Square

I'm just a square goin' nowhere. I'm closing this blog down. I've wanted to for a while now...long story short, I just need to find a new stretch of electronic real estate to scribe on. You can find me here from now on: http://squaregoingnowhere.blogspot.com/ Enjoy.

Monster

"I used to think that life was hunting me down and trying to destroy me. I found that to be untrue. It's the easiest way out. To blame your problems on something else, someone else. I threw out the ideas the the world and life were my enemies. I found that I was protecting myself from the real enemy that I had not yet dealt with, myself." -Henry Rollins "Monster" Well, it's a new year. I make no specific resolutions, rather I am continuing on down the path that I have been walking for the past year. Well, I've been on it for more than a year, but this specific portion of this path I should say. Regardless, I am thankful to everyone who has ever given me a helping hand, words of encouragement or even a smile when I needed it. I am filled with gratitude on a daily basis that I have been blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life. I hope that I return those good vibes your way as well. Be well.

Happy New Years

Moved

We're moved. Getting settled. Overall it is good. Tonight is not good, but overall, it is good. Just checking in here. Maybe it's time to kill this written electronic experiment. I don't know anymore. Here, enjoy some Rollins.

Boxes n Bowie

The last several days have been steeped in boxes (of the moving variety) and the likes of David Bowie, The Pretenders, the Cars and a whole list of other early 80s/late 70s act that I hold near and dear to my heart. Reminds me of being a kid, just being and playing and not caring and all that great music in the background. Moving apparently makes me sentimental. Feels good to be here. Learning the different sounds and sights of my new surroundings. I like that. <3 you dudes, I need to slumber.

Lessons learned, lessons earned

Some words I've been rolling over in my head recently: Equanimity is the only thing that will save you from this world, and it doesn't come easy. Or cheap. And you can't fake it for long. -Michael Perry Sometimes, I find it is easy to see only the...downside of the tough side of my life. Easy to beat myself up for the mistakes I've made. Thinking, if only I had... What if's kill me. There are upsides though. Equanimity being the biggest of them, from my vantage point. Yes it has been hard. No it hasn't been cheap. And yes I've faked it, badly I might add. Maybe this is part of equanimity, but gratitude certainly comes along in there. I don't claim to be some amazingly even-keeled, eternally grateful person. I'm not. Step by step, day by day though. Just the way I see world from my vantage.
