Sites, sounds and smells of a grease junkie

I'm still here. I assure you. Been busy and well, to be frank, been spending my down town off the computer (well, its usually on cause I'm listening to music) and instead I've been buried in reading and writing. At the moment, I'm reading three books. They include " Off Main Street " by Michael Perry. An amazing writer who just so happens to be from my backyard growing up. Also part way into the Kurt Vonnegut treasure, " Jailbird ." What can I say? its Kurt. Its good. Lastly, I'm about 1/2 through " Get in the Van. On the Road with Black Flag ." by Henry Rollins . Again, what can I say...its Hank. Its the Flag. Its good. And on top of that, I've been writing. Not pages n pages at a time writing, but writing just the same. So my thoughts and energy have been on that. I had a friend of mine mention how she started a journal, written in the form of letters, a few years back. It was one of those..."holy shit that's an amaz...

So my good friend TM's daughter Arielle just signed with Intense BMX. Thought I'd share the love cause, well, that's a pretty cool thing. Other than that, I don't have much. Mentally I started training for the Apple this week . Physically started the training as well. Yesterday I spent and hour on the trainer and did a 5K run. I'm giving myself a bit of time to ease into it, but just the same, I want to be ready. Not sure what if any expectations I have for myself in this event other than, I'm going to go out there and try and give it my best. Oh...I did almost forget to add this again...but I'm pretty excited because I have a new Madone coming my way soon. A frameset, not a complete bike, but that's more than ok with me. I have a conspiracy theory for you. Brett Favre mailed in the 2007 NFC championship game against the Giants . He wanted out of Green Ba y and he decided enough was enough. I'm telling you, this thing has legs . I very distinctly remember him during that game. He looked miserable, he looked like he wanted out. Like he was sick of playing in the cold. And ...its not a stretch to think he was sick of playing for the Packers (and Ted Thompson ). Spread the word! Another conspiracy theory I just heard (thanks Chad!). "Much like the Apollo moon landing, which we all know was fake, Favre's "arrival" in Minnesota is simply a product of trick photography perpetuated by the NFL to drum up fan interest in Minnesota so a stadium is built in Minneapolis and the league can capture an expansion fee bounty in LA"   ...
