Moving

Image
I'm moving...again. Soon. I am excited to be back in a familiar area and a place I enjoyed living. Excited that for the first time in...five years? I'll be staying in the same place two out of three years. With that said, I will be happy when this move is over and done. As the signs in Buffalo say..."Welcome home" Thanks.

Maybe I am a softy. Maybe I am a sap. Maybe I am an idealist. Maybe those who are in power want to keep the power so they pit us against one another. Maybe we are all not so different after all. Because out of many, there comes the one.

What are your thoughts...

"You buy furniture, you tell yourself, this is the last sofa I will ever need in my life. buy the sofa, then for a couple of years you're satisfied that no matter what goes wrong, at least you've got your sofa issue handled, then the right set of dishes, then the perfect bed. The drapes. The rug. Then you're trapped in your lovely nest, and the things that you used to own, now they own you." -Fight Club I am curious...what do you think of when you read this?

It's 2 a.m. do you know where your mind is?

It is nearly 2 a.m. I've been up for over two hours. I cannot sleep. Why? I haven't a clue as to why. Maybe it was the cold-press coffee I had earlier with Jon. Maybe its some thoughts in my mind. I know my body is tired. Hell, my mind is tired. Instead of sleep...I'm awake. Maybe I'll try reading again. Though " Fight Club " doesn't exactly make me sleepy. Stupid restless mind. Restless body. Don't they know it's nearly 2 a.m. The wee small hours of the morning, as the song goes . There we go. Frankie Blue Eyes...hits the spot. I need something like that, mellow. To calm this beast. Make the savage mellow out. Let's hope this works...

You're gonna be missed. I'm glad I got to cross your path. Rest in peace.

Is being single really such a horrible thing?

Image
Do you ever wonder if being single isn't such a bad thing? Doing what you want when you want with who you want and where you want. If I wake up and feel like going for a bike ride, I do. If I feel like working on said bikes while doing laundry and listening to Ella, guess what? I can. This may seem odd coming from a person who's clearly on a dating site. However, hear me out. I'm not arguing against a relationship. Far from it. As the saying goes, no (wo)man is an island unto themselves. We need others to get through this life. Hell, if I tried to do things on my own, I'd either be dead or in jail by now. What I am saying is, there seems to be a very high percentage of people who go head-long into a relationship, any relationship, just so they aren't alone. Because they are afraid of being alone. As if being alone is a disease and if you catch it, it spreads. As if there is no cure. As I was working on this post, someone sent m a link to a website, quirkyalone.net ....
